SCREEN DISPLAY SOLUTION
Stuck in Boot up: The ChargeMate is stuck in boot up screen and the charger’s connection with the network has been lost. “Booting up...”
  1. Power cycle the charger.
  2. Ensure the charger is securely mounted to the bracket.
  3. If the fault reappears after 90 seconds, inspect the ethernet communication cable or check WiFi signal strength.
  4. The charger may have trouble connecting to backend software.
Charger Offline: The ChargeMate will display this message on startup when establishing a connection with the network. “Waiting for Station
Registration”
  1. Verify the internet connection.
  2. Check for a solid ethernet/Wi-Fi connection symbol on the charger screen.
Cable Timeout: The ChargeMate will display this message if the “plug in cable” timer expires. You have one minute to connect the cable to both the vehicle and the charger after tapping the RFID card. “Cable Timeout
Please Disconnect
cable from
charging station”
  1. Restart the charger session.
  2. Connect the cable to the charger immediately upon seeing the timer and plug it into the vehicle.
  3. Ensure the cable is fully inserted into both the charger and vehicle sockets.
  4. If the error persists, inspect the cable for faults and test with an alternate cable if available.

Contactor Fault: The ChargeMate will display this message if the internal contactor has failed to open/close. “Contactor Fault
Please Contact
support centre”
  1. Power cycle the ChargeMate by turning off the device at the isolator switch, waiting a few seconds, then turning it back on.
  2. This can resolve issues caused by the device being in an abnormal state.
  3. If the fault persists, a hardware issue is likely, and components such as the contactor may need replacement.

Voltage Fault: In the event that the supply voltage falls outside of the charger’s rated voltage, the device will display undervoltage and overvoltage fault messages. This feature ensures that you have a clear indication of any potential issues with the charger. “Undervoltage/Overvoltage Fault
Please Contact
support centre”
  1. If possible, isolate the solar and battery supplies at home to check if voltage supply improves.
  2. If the fault persists, it’s likely a hardware issue, and components such as the contactor may need replacement.

Meter Fault: The ChargeMate will display this message if it is unable to communicate with the internal power meter. “Power Meter Fault
Please Contact
support centre”
  1. Contact JET Charge to confirm if the charger has an NMI meter or SolarLink connection.
  2. Check if the meter and any auxiliary meter have been properly configured in the backend software.
  3. If the fault persists, it may indicate a hardware issue with the charger, and components like the meter may need replacement.

Blank LCD Screen: The ChargeMate will display no message on the LCD Screen. The LCD screen has no power. “No Power, blank”
  1. There may be a failure of the internal AC/DC 24V power supply for the screen.
  2. If the fault persists, it’s likely a hardware issue, and the power supply or other internal components may need replacement.

0kWh Energy: The LCD screen indicates 0kWh of energy while charging. “No Power, blank”
  1. The internal AC/DC 24V power supply for the screen may have failed.
  2. If the fault persists, it is likely a hardware issue, and the power supply or other internal components may need replacement.

0kWh Energy: The LCD screen indicates 0kWh of energy while charging. “0kWh”
  1. A loose wire may be present on one of the CTs connected to the power meter.
  2. To resolve, an electrician needs to open the charger and tighten the CT cables.
Intermittent Charging: The charger stops charging after a few minutes.

“Paused” or

”Charger Icon Flashing” or

“Vehicle Icon Flashing”

  1. The charger should undergo the CM rectification process.
  2. The internal RDC-DD may be detecting a 6mA DC fault on the AC line. Have an electrical contractor inspect the AC cabling and check for defects in the wiring insulation.
  3. If the AC cables are intact, consider replacing the RDC-DD in the charger.
  4. Another possible cause could be an issue with the main board.
  5. Overheating in hot environments may also be a factor; ensure the charger is not placed in direct sunlight on hot days.

Charger Offline: The charger LCD screens displays charger offline. “Charger Offline”
  1. For Ethernet connection : Inspect the ethernet cable for integrity and check the connection at both the charger and the router.
  2. For Wi-Fi connection : Ensure the router is connected to the internet. If the Wi-Fi password has changed, update the connection via JET Charge Connect. Only 2.4GHz network bands are supported by ChargeMate.
  3. For 4G network connection : Confirm that the modem has a signal, the SIM card is active, and the modem is correctly configured.

Suspend: The charger keeps going into ‘suspend’ mode.

“Paused” or

”Charger Icon Flashing” or

“Vehicle Icon Flashing”

  1. Suspended by Charger :

    • If the charger icon on the LCD is flashing, it means the charging session was paused by the charger.
    • This can occur when the charger is under load management and charging was suspended due to a lack of available capacity.
  2. Suspended by EV :

    • If the vehicle icon is flashing, the session was paused by the vehicle.
    • This can happen if a charge schedule or charge limit is set on the vehicle.

RFID Fault: The RFID card is not working. “Invalid RFID”
  1. RFID has not been set up correctly.
  2. Verify the setup in Illuminate.
